Princess Street Gallery is pleased to showcase hand crafted jewelry by Bahamian artisan Kim Riedel. Early on Kim studied art and design in Canada and the UK but upon her return to The Bahamas developed a passion for metalwork, in particular jewelry, and went on to apprentice with famed Bahamian sculptor/blacksmith Tyrone Ferguson who guided her in the production of her first jewelry pieces. Over the years Kim has developed her own signature style, making jewelry using a variety of hammered metals and semi precious stones referencing ancient cultures — think Mayan, Egyptian, Roman — but with a very contemporary vibe. Kim first came to our attention in 2008 when she was working out of a studio at Popopstudios in Nassau. We invited her to host a trunk show that year and have been showcasing her jewelry ever since. Welcome back Kim!
Please join us at a reception on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 6-8pm as Princess Street Gallery welcomes Kim Riedel with a new collection of jewelry.
